Year-round Events
In Illinois, there are Special Olympics competitions happening at the local Area level, regional level, and at the state level throughout the year. In addition, there are fundraising events at both the state and Area levels that help support programming for nearly 20,000 athletes in Illinois.

World Games
Every two years, there is a World Games competition, with Summer and Winter Games alternating. See World Games for information about the Illinois Delegation-Team USA for the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, China.

Fundraising Events
Each of our 17 Area programs raises dollars to support their local program with the help of hundreds of volunteers as well as key committee members. To support the events in your local Area, please see your local Area page on this website. In addition, there are a number of statewide fundraising events that support the statewide program.
