Be a Fan of Friendship The story of Special Olympics athlete Dylan Thompson and his mentor, Jon Crawford, is one of true friendship. The two first met in 2004 when Jon was a high school student and Dylan was active in the Special Needs Athletic Program (SNAP). After three years of mentoring Dylan and involvement with SNAP, Jon realized that he and Dylan were not mentee and mentor, but really were friends.
